Better late than never.

Well it's been officially a week since the Game Gallery Newgrounds meetup in Langhorne, PA happened, and I figured I had better write something now or it'll never happen.

First and foremost, IT WAS A GREAT TIME! I had a lot of positive feedback from attendees about the event, everybody saying what a great time they had. We had OVER DOUBLE the amount of attendees since the last arcade meetup I hosted in December in Berlin, NJ. We had so many talented people gathered in once place it was insane. Even Tom Fulp, Ivan Almighty, Phantom Arcade, and Spazzkid pulled up! I can't begin to describe how good it made me feel to have you all come out and play games with this humble goose. Truly a forever memory!

Now about the event itself: I got there around 2 p.m. and some Newgrounders were already there. After getting our wristbands for the arcade, we headed to Pizza Pie II (don't ask what happened to Pizza Pie 1) and got some food. As people arrived, we directed them down to the quaint pizza joint. Eventually, some of us who were finished eating headed up to the arcade, where more people continued to arrive. Some were even handing out posters, stickers, and drawing in each others' sketchbooks. Hell, I even sold a Polaroid CRT TV I picked up in the morning on whim to @coby. Most attendees were split between playing games inside and hanging out on the sidewalk outside. Eventually, some of us headed to Brother's Pizza (don't ask about Sister's Pizza) for dinner. As the day started winding down, people started leaving little-by-little, with some heading to a nearby Round 1 for karaoke. Eventually, it was just me and @imprez playing pinball till closing time. He got a firsthand pinball education from yours truly (@IvanAlmighty got one too at the 2023 YESTERcades meetup) and he improved his score with every game he played. After we said our goodbyes, I hit the road for the 2 hour drive home.

The next one will be at the PINBALL GALLERY in Malvern, PA sometime in late August or September.

The votes are in, so the Gooseman is once again hosting the first of 2 Newgrounds arcade meetups this year.

Our first one will be at the Game Gallery, located in a strip mall in Langhorne, PA on Saturday April 19th. There will be plenty of parking and there are quite a few places to eat nearby.

Most of you know how these things go, but in case this is your first meetup: bring your sketchbook, stickers, and posters to share. Also probably good to have some cash on you just in case.

Once again @mantis will be making a sick custom poster, exclusive for this event, so be sure to check it out.

HELP: @coolboyman is looking for someone to room with for this event. Please reach out to him if you can accommodate him as he'll be flying in.

A day late and several dollars short.

Not much of a writer, but I'll do my best.

I've been watching people like @brandybuizel host meetups and I thought I'd give it a shot too. Being laid off has left me with a lot of extra time, so that made planning this much less stressful. I put up a poll on the NG Meetups Discord with 3 possible arcade locations and the New Jersey one won with 50% of the vote. Once a date was locked in for Saturday, I reached out to @tomfulp to get it posted on the NG calendar. Thank you Tom again for that and thank you Brandy for the advice you gave me on hosting an in-person event.

Even though it was over a 100 mile hike for me to the Berlin Farmer's Market, it was definitely worth it.

I was so pleased to have had about 15 wonderful people show up for my first ever meetup.

We all had a great time playing pinball and other arcade games, especially the mysterious popcorn machine. (IYKYK)

Most of us took breaks to check out the other offerings there, including a pet store with exotic birds and a game store.

Around 6 pm, everyone gathered and we headed down to one end of the market for dinner at a pizza joint.

It was there that @tamag0 joined us and, since the Gooble lover hadn't had a chance to play any games, we headed back to the arcade for one more round once everyone was done eating.

Around 7:30 p.m., we all said our goodbyes and took our final pictures together. @mantis made some fantastic merch, including a very high quality poster to commemorate the event. (Which will be hanging in my room soon)

Thanks again to everyone who came out or helped organize this in some way. This really meant a lot to me and I had a great time doing this. I will probably do something like this again in a few months.

I know I have been discussing a name change with some Newgrounders IRL, but hadn't committed to an actual date.

Well, I figured what better time than Christmas, as a little gift to myself.

Not that I hated the Evil-Sora name, but now that I am more active in the community, I thought the change was appropriate.

Plus, that name represents the old me and the past. I want to look towards the future and the new and hopefully better me.

Anyways I hope you all had a great Christmas and a fantastic holiday!
